John 3:16 "For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life."
Family is a really strong bond that everyone deserves to have in their life. My youth group at church is my family. At times, i definitely feel closer to them than i do with my real family. No arguments, no misreading, no lies. I went to this church when i was a little girl, but i stopped coming. Recently i decided i would try it back out, alone. No family to come along, i'll have to stick with my family that already belongs to the church. Don't get me wrong, it's totally fine with me. I would just like to be a member of the same church as my parents. A few weeks ago, i went on a youth trip to Gatlinburg, Crossroads Worldwide was there to preach to us and put us through workshops so we can prosper in the Lord. I definitely grew into a new person with only that short and sweet weekend i was spending there. A big part of that trip that made me turn around was when me and my friend Ali were out reading by the hotel pool at midnight. A guy, we soon found out's name was John, came out later to catch up on notes. Within an hour later, Ali, John, his four friends from the conference and i had a Bible study from about 1:15-2:00 in the morning. It really changed the way i looked at things. I had forgotten there were people like that in the world. People who were strong, had a heart. Their love for the Lord was bigger than i have ever witnesses. Especially in John, he just brought a smile to your face when you saw him. I would never, in a lifetime, regret going to that conference that weekend. It made me into a better person, i put God first and i'm loving every second of my new life. My youth group has left a big influence on me as well. I now go to that church every Wednesday and just about every Sunday, when i'm not at my dad's. The youth group is my home now, i don't know what i would have done without it.
