Grounded for life.

Before you get the wrong impression, no, I am not talking about the television show. I am talking about this girl, the daughter of a mother with high expectations of her, who made some bad decisions. Resulting in that, I have the privilege of being grounded for at least a month. When I say "privilege" I really mean "detriment". Therefore, I will more than likely be blogging excessively within the next few weeks. I am going to have to live without my phone, my car, and my social life for a real long while. The only advantage; I won't have the opportunity to spend any money. Because I make oh so much money working at Taco Hell. Not. My everyday agenda now consists of Law and Order SVU, spending time with my cat, and constantly typing something on this crappy, old laptop. Sounds fun, right? You have no idea. Something tells me i'll be living this overly boring life for God knows how long. More than likely, the week my grounding is over, i'll end up getting into some other kind of trouble. It's pretty much an everyday thing. So I guess you'll be taking a tour of my cram-packed mind a lot more in the future. I know what you're thinking, and i'm truly sorry. Just bare with me

Me encanta mi familia ♥

Let's go to the beach-each

My cousins mean the world to me

This is my bestfriend. Whuddup.

Uptown Art.

Last Wednesday, I went to a class at Uptown Art. They teach you step by step how to paint an artwork. The theme was "Paris". & this is how mine turned out! Hopefully, i will be going next month for Mother's Day. Pictures will be posted (:

Quick Sketch!

It could have been a whole lot better. I got a weebit lazy. Hopefully i can get a book to keep all of my work in so i won't lose it. Then, you'll be seeing way more.

Terrifying Tornadoes.

Tornado warnings are scary. Jessica, Alex and I went to Nanny's house to huddle up in her basement. Nanny made me mashed potatoes. She knows me so well. After sitting around for hours drawing some trees in a sketch book, the tornado never came. All of that worrying for nothing. Hint, that's why i rotated all of my photos. We were being swept away. We had a lot of fun though, that's a plus! & i'll upload my drawing for all of you. Over and outtt.

Crayon Melting Project

A while ago on Tumblr, i discovered this really interesting artwork. It's called "Crayon Melting". It's pretty simple and the results are fantastic! It is almost impossible to mess up. I decided i would make a tutorial over how to create it, so all of my two followers can witness the steps and see how easy it is; even though they're my cousins and are already well aware on how to do this. Oh well :) Hope you enjoy this fun craft!

You'll need a canvas and four packs of crayons (depending on the size canvas). I only used the blue ones, however if you decide to make a rainbow one you won't need near as many packs of crayons. Line each crayon up side by side. Don't let there be too much, if any, space between. Hot glue them down to the canvas. You can put them in a pattern, as i did, and the colors will come out extraordinary.

I decided to add something a little more just to give it character. If you choose to do this step, all you will need is colored construction paper of your choice. I chose black and red to act as a silhouette. I hot glued the girl down to the canvas, however it makes the paper look wavy. You may like the outcome more if you use a different type of glue. Now, all you have to do is find something to keep the crayon wax from flowing over the construction paper figure. It can be pretty complicated; it takes patience. Next, get a hair dryer and begin drying the crayons in a downward motion. You will definitely want to put something around the canvas to protect floors or walls from being splattered. I didn't use anything because i prepared my project on an easel. The crayons still, however, went all over the place. Just be super careful for your belongings' sake. When you begin melting the crayons, stick to drying the pointed end of the crayons.

These are my results. Not too shabby for a first time experiment. It only takes about ten minutes to finish your creation. I would recommend for a first timer to try out the single crayon melting; without the figure silhouette. There's less steps and more convenience. It was a lot of fun in the making of this, i'm going to do another one of these for sure! Try it out :)

Blogsphere?

I have an Autistic cousin named Brandon. He knows just about everything about everything. I have never met a smarter little boy. Today, he asked to look through my blog. He then said, "I guess you're a part of the Blogsphere now!"

So yeah, I'm now part of the "Blogsphere". Greetings.

Valentine's Banquet ♡

Last night, the GCPC youth served at our Valentine's Banquet. Of course my clumsy self couldn't carry food and drinks from table to table so Katelyn and i were in charge of raffle tickets! I was supposed to serve a table, but i'm guessing Brock had me covered. Thanks Broccoli! We all had a lot of fun. Pretty much the entire youth group helped out. I only had one spill all night! Not counting the time i scooped butter out of a tub and down my shirt... but besides that. They played a video in the end focused on couples. One of the questions was asking what you love the most. Just about everyone would say "God, Jesus, Family, Spouse, Friends, and so on". Clint, however said Alabama football. Typical. Most of us just goofed off the entire time. At one point, i was labeled the "Butter Bouncer". Since i was too lazy to do anything, i was guarded the butter and sour cream. Ya know, to make sure no mischief occurred. We also had a candle incident that was very interesting. The banquet was so amazing, all of the couples were definitely having a fantabulous time. The whole night was a success.

Bedazzled Lips!

We have way too much time on our hands.
Lyndsey and I found this pin on Pinterest of jeweled lips, and we decided to try it out!
If you want to be a cool cat like us, all you have to do is take lipgloss (the gooier the better), put a thick coat on your lips and add fingernail jewels. Just to warn you, it's very time consuming. Especially if you are a perfectionist like me. I'm not real sure what the point of this is, but it's fun so do it!

Lose 5lbs in 7 days.

I was a cheerleader for over 3 years, but i never seemed to slim down. I might have gained muscle but i still wasn't at the point where i was comfortable enough just to take a walk down the beach in a bikini. How am i going to make that change? Well, i'm a hardcore pinner on Pinterest, and i came across this 'diet'. However, it's not really a diet at all. You don't have to change anything you eat. It's totally healthy! So i decided to try it out. "It helps flush out excess water weight you have carrying around in your body and... you could lose more than 5 pounds in 7 days depending on how much excess water weight you have carrying around."

Jillian Michaels recipe for losing 5 pounds in 7 days...

- Get 60 ounces of distilled or pure water
- Add a tablespoon of sugar free cranberry juice
- Add 1 dandelion root tea bag
- Add 2 tablespoons of lemon juice

You drink the 60 ounces every day for 7 days.

Yes, after you get it all mixed together it looks like a lot to drink. I distribute each supplement into three different water bottles. That way i drink one after every meal. If you like lemonade, you will probably love it. I, personally, don't have a care in the world for lemonade so i am not lovin the taste. I just tell myself to fight through it so i will get the result i want.

When i was looking up the way to mix this drink, i couldn't find anything. I simply took the distilled water and the dandelion root tea bag and prepared it in a coffee maker, you can also boil it on the stove, and added 1 tablespoon of sugar free cranberry juice and 2 tablespoons of lemon juice when it was finished. I refrigerate my bottles of this drink, however it does not call for it.

Enjoy!

The Can-Canning Experience.

After church today, some of us went to "The Brother's" birthday party at Joe's Crab Shack in Nashville. Papa, David, Phillip, Aunt Sabine, Aunt Faye, Nanny, Brock and I all attended. Right before we left, our waiter made the brothers go up to the front of the restaurant. A waitress joined them, and they all began can-canning. Now, if you've never can-canned, you have to be very coordinated. Not just anyone has the serious skill to move their feet this way. The brothers, however, are obviously highly capable. They look like some Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders up there! We all had an absofreakinlutely great time. Brock and I celebrated with some yummy chocolate cake!

There's always room for change.

John 3:16 "For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life."

Family is a really strong bond that everyone deserves to have in their life. My youth group at church is my family. At times, i definitely feel closer to them than i do with my real family. No arguments, no misreading, no lies. I went to this church when i was a little girl, but i stopped coming. Recently i decided i would try it back out, alone. No family to come along, i'll have to stick with my family that already belongs to the church. Don't get me wrong, it's totally fine with me. I would just like to be a member of the same church as my parents. A few weeks ago, i went on a youth trip to Gatlinburg, Crossroads Worldwide was there to preach to us and put us through workshops so we can prosper in the Lord. I definitely grew into a new person with only that short and sweet weekend i was spending there. A big part of that trip that made me turn around was when me and my friend Ali were out reading  by the hotel pool at midnight. A guy, we soon found out's name was John, came out later to catch up on notes. Within an hour later, Ali, John, his four friends from the conference and i had a Bible study from about 1:15-2:00 in the morning. It really changed the way i looked at things. I had forgotten there were people like that in the world. People who were strong, had a heart. Their love for the Lord was bigger than i have ever witnesses. Especially in John, he just brought a smile to your face when you saw him. I would never, in a lifetime, regret going to that conference that weekend. It made me into a better person, i put God first and i'm loving every second of my new life. My youth group has left a big influence on me as well. I now go to that church every Wednesday and just about every Sunday, when i'm not at my dad's. The youth group is my home now, i don't know what i would have done without it.

Hello there,

My name is Katelyn, but you can call me Kate, or Nighthawk. Whichever you prefer.
I'm sixteen and a sophomore. I love to do crafty things. I never have time to do much, but if i ever finish one of my projects, you better believe it'll end up on here. I play the piano and i love to sing. I'm in love with art. I'm the kind of person that will trip and fall on her face from staring at the description in a building too long. I write poems and attempt to write songs, however that never goes the way i plan. I love love love mashed potatoes. I hate hate hate ketchup. I am obsessed with cats. I'm the clumsiest person you will ever meet. My stepdad calls me Danger-Prone Daphne. I love to express myself, so that's my goal on here. I hope you enjoy!

My friends take up a big part of my life. I love them all to death. They are the best friends i could ever ask for, one of them being my cousin and another being her boyfriend still are just as close to me as the others. I have been friends with Riley since the 5th grade, Dalton since freshman year, Alex since 8th and Jessica since 27 days after my birth. You could say we've known each other for a little while. Swenson is missing from this picture, but i guess i could put in a good word for him too. We're all amazingly close. I don't know what i would do without them. Love you guys.

This is my best friend Lyndsey, and she is going to kill me for this. But, i had no good recent pictures of us. She has been there for me through everything. I definitely spend more time with her than i do anyone else. I can tell her anything, and trust her with anything. We have the greatest time together. I have never laughed so hard with anyone else. Even though she hates my cat, i'm still oddly friends with her ;) Love you Lynds!

Wow. Where do i even start? My family means everything to me. These are just the girl cousins, i didn't have a good recent picture of the whole gang either. I definitely don't know what i would do without them. We have all been through a lot together. Lacey is my inspiration, always has been. I wrote a paper on her in like the 5th grade, i need to find it. Then, Gaga, you could put it on the wall next to your portrait ;) Jessica and i have always been the closest. We're the same age, so we spend a whole lot of time together. I don't know how she has put up with me for so long. She's always telling me how annoying i am. Oh hush, you know you love me. And as for my sister, Kristen... 'nuff said. I love you all to pieces. Don't forget that.

Say hi to my bestest friend in the whole wide world. This is Toosie Toes. She is the most precious thing. We have a love-hate relationship. She cannot stand me, but i couldn't live without her. We surely have been through a lot. We have a secret handshake, shhhh! Don't tell. We carry on really deep conversations too. She's the cheese to my maccoroni, the bake to my potato, the hash to my browns. Over the years, i have given her a few different nicknames: Sugarplum Princess, Little One, Sunshine, Puss in Heels, Cat, Toooz, Feline Friend, Honeybear, Kitty Whiskers, Cutie Patoosie, the list goes on and on. I seriously don't know what i would do without her. She's my favorite sister... don't tell Kristen and Neeley. I love her to death.
